Looking to characterize your Halloween night with an alternative to the typical candy-or-liquor-induced stomachache? From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., you can visit Solano’s cafeteria, where the ASSC is sponsoring the “Halloween Hip Hop Showcase and Dance.”
Whether you’re attending in costume or street clothes, you may enjoy the event, which will include dancing, food, and entertainment provided by a DJ, the Asian Pacific Islander Club, the Bliss Dance Company, and Matai Entertainment.
Tickets are for sale at the door and are being pre-sold at the ASSC office in the 1100 building. Admission is $8, or $6 if you bring a canned food donation to help kick off the ASSC-sponsored November food drive. Regardless of which ticket price you pay, $2 will go to the Matt Garcia Scholarship Program.
Attendees must be at least 18 years of age, or in possession of an SCC ID card. When the dance is over, an after-party will be held at Pepper Belly’s Comedy Club, and with every ASSC dance ticket that is produced, Pepper Belly’s will match Solano’s donations to the Matt Garcia fund. The after-party is not sponsored by the ASSC or by Solano Community College.
