Jane Austen fans can get their fix with "Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict."

Do you love Jane Austen? Are you addicted? Laurie Viera Rigler’s book, “Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict,” is just that. An average American woman confessing, or declaring, her love for Jane Austen as her world is crashing around her.

If only romance was as easy as in the Jane Austen world.

The romance novel revolves around a 30-year-old woman, Courtney Stone, and her addiction to Jane Austen. Her life seems to be in shambles after her fiancé cheats on her. Also, on top of that, she finds out that her best friend Wes knew the whole time.

Courtney goes to the only thing that keeps her sane, Jane Austen. A new life emerges for her when she wakes up in Austen’s time as Jane Mansfield.

Adjusting to her new life is anything, but easy. Used to being a free feminist woman, able to do whatever she pleases, it’s hard for Courtney to adjust to the no technology, arranged marriage deal that’s she thrown into. She must overcome herself, her new body, memories and the new world around her.

She learns to cope in the time period and soon realizes, after almost making a catastrophic mistake, that she likes the time period and certain people in it.

With many similarities to Jane Austen’s novels, this book is a clever look at what a modern woman would go through in Austen’s time. Courtney’s life soon turns out to be the ultimate Jane Austen drama with mixes of “Sense and Sensibility” and “Pride and

Prejudice.” Even her relationship with the handsome Mr. Edgeworth seems to relate to Jane Austen’s Mr. Darcy.

The novel is perfect for any person who wants the class of Jane Austen and the laughter of life’s craziness intertwined.
