Perfumo ousted by board
VP of student services will serve as temporary superintendent

The Solano College Board of Trustees has voted to "terminate the contract" of Superintendent-President Paulette Perfumo, effective immediately.
Vice President of Student Services Gerry Fisher has been named interim superintendent-president.
"I just found out about it," Fisher said, minutes after the results of the board's closed-door action were announced.
"I'll do my best to help the district through this difficult time," he said.
Trustee James Claffey confirmed the board's action during its Dec. 6 meeting but could not elaborate what led the board to this decision.
The vote was 4-2, with trustees Denis Honeychurch and A. Marie Young voting no.
