"Warhawk" is the type of game that could single-handedly convince buyers to purchase a PS3.

To sum up "Warhawk," it's a third-person shooter that you battle either on foot, by ground, or by air. There isn't much plot to describe, and that's fine. This isn't the type of cerebral game that will make you think. This game is all about mayhem and destruction. It has the feel of a throwback as it's mainly about shooting and blowing stuff up. In fact this is based on the original "Warhawk," which was available on the Playstation.

The game's main selling point is a massive online experience, with a maximum of 32 players at the same time. Even with a seemingly limited type of gameplay, this game offers plenty of variety.

The graphics on this game are well done. The game's seamless transition between being on foot to getting in a vehicle is very good. There is a crispness and smoothness that is expected on a next-generation game.

For a game that has a lot of players, there is no noticeable lag or slowdown. The controls are very responsive and are very user-friendly. The little things like lagging and slowdown can bring down the enjoyment level of a game, but with Warhawk the smoothness is amazing.

Surprisingly, being on foot is actually one of the better aspects of the game. You can explore the area around you. There is plenty of ground to cover and you never feel as if the environment hinders the experience. Jumping into a gun turret is fun to control as well.

Vehicular combat is also fun to control. The ground vehicles controls are seamless and fun to control. But in my opinion, the most enjoyable vehicle to control is the jets. The thrill of flying the jet is fun to play. The weaponry on the vehicles are fun to control and use in the game.

Another great aspect of the online experience is that you can play two players from one PS3. The ability to play with a friend against a whole legion is fun.

Even with a game with a huge online component, there is some customization to be found. You can create custom paints and symbols on vehicles like the jets or even on your individual player.

There is plenty of replayability in this game; the achievements and online ranking are things that will make you go back.

The only negative things about "Warhawk" are that sometimes your stats do no track and occasionally your rank will be reset for no reason. Joining games can also be a problem at times. It will send an incorrect message saying that the server is full. Even though is not.

"Warhawk" is available for download off the Sony network for $40; you can also purchase the game in stores for $60. If you purchase the game for $60, it comes with a Bluetooth headset.

If you are still questioning whether to buy a PS3, then this is the game for you. Warhawk is an engrossing game that will leave you wanting to play more.
