Solano College's benefit concert began with a silent auction and reception at the SCC student center.
"Tim Johnson from the NorthBay Health Care Foundation put the whole silent acution together," said Dr. Charles Shatzer, SCC's associate vice-president of the workforce and community development program.
"The NorthBay Foundation donated half of the items, and the Fairfield/Suisun Rotary donated the other items. The Rotary was really good, they also helped us out last year for the online silent auction," said Shatzer.
The items up for bid ranged from works of art, signed sports memorabilia, such as a Shaquille O'Neal autographed photo, amethyst crystal candle holders, premium award winning wines, high tech gadgets, toys for tots and teens alike.
There were a lot of fun items, such as a wall mountable Tony Hawk Bird House skateboard deck with five PS2 collectible games. A gift basket with a Barbie B book, home clock radio iPod deck, electronic suduko game for the pre-teens. All of the children's gift baskets included a generous gift certificate from Pietro's Pizza. A Radio Flyer wagon filled with various toys for the tots, and lots of things for the big kids; a watch from Thornton & Sons Jewelers, a Vitner's golf club, to name a few.
The silent auction brought in $1,900 for the NorthBay Cancer Center and the SCC foundation for community and class room development programs.

Pretty awesome array of items up for auction here. My son would of died for either the skate board of anything Shaq. No way to lose with this kind of offering. (Continued…)
