The phrase "three-game win streak" seemed possible for the Solano Falcons after a deep strike on the first drive of the game. Then, they scored as many points as backup quarterback Bobby Guillory threw interceptions for the rest of the game, which were five.

And hence the result, a 49-12 beat down by Mendocino College of Ukiah, and an abysmal 2-8 record for the season, thanks in large part to poor defensive play as exhibited in the last game of the season.

In the game, Blake McAhren threw the first and only touchdown pass of the game, 64 yards, to Michael Hicks to make it 7-0.

McAhren then suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit and was pulled for Guillory. A wide receiver by position, the lack of experience showed, as Guillory threw 31 passes, but completed only seven for 68 yards.

Hicks caught three passes for 83 yards. Bryce Hawthorne led the Falcons in rushing, with 73 yards on 17 carries.

For the season, the big play was the key on both sides of the ball. It seemed this football season that every game had this rhythm to it: Solano has a 7-12 play drive for a score; the opponent then has a bomb for a touchdown on the first play of their next drive.

And so went the Solano Falcons dismal showing on the playing field this season.

Solano was 20th in total offense, averaging 29.9 points per game and ninth in passing offense.

Their defense was dead last in yards allowed with 5134, an average of nearly seven yards per game.

TJ Ross had 6.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks. Stephen Harris had two sacks and 4.5 tackles for a loss.

The team can look to starting quarterback Blake McAhren as their best player. McAhren threw for 2240 yards this season, coupled with twenty touchdowns. Another standout was wide receiver Michael Hicks, catching 44 balls for 848 yards and eight touchdowns. Bryce Hawthorne ran the ball 123 times for 513 yards and two touchdowns.

"We had a good season," said head coach Floyd Burnsed. "We played a tough schedule. The character of our players came out."

Burnsed added that several of his players were under the recruiting process by four-year colleges, including Guillory, Harris, and offensive linemen Kalin Chaussee and Zach Diaz. He said that their final decisions should be made by February.
