The electricity went out in the PE building Wednesday just before noon when contractors working in the locker rooms cut through the service line to the building. It is lights out in the 1700 building and they won't be back for awhile.
According to Frank Kitchen, the director of maintenance at Solano, the issue is still being worked on and it will be "a long and lengthy repair to get back to 100 percent."
Maintenance will be bringing in a generator late Wednesday afternoon for the building to run on just in time for the basketball game.
Kitchen said that no one knew the 600 amp service line was there as contractors were using a concrete sawcutter to demolition parts of the old locker rooms.
