Issue date: 4/30/08 Section: Entertainment
The Solano Community College Art department is celebrating the teaching and learning of art in the exhibition entitled, "To Honor Teaching."
The exhibit opened on April 24 and will run through May 19.
Thirty-seven artists - all former or current educators at various institutions - are participating in the exhibition. Of them, 19 of them are Solano Community College Art faculty and staff members.
The exhibition, in particular, celebrates the teachings of Kate Delos, who is retiring at the end of the spring semester.
A free reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Herger Gallery, Room 1304. A special lecture by Kate Delos will precede the reception in room 1301 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Faculty, staff, students, and administration are all invited to attend both the lecture and the reception.
