Dear TalkToMe,
I’ve been seeing a lot of commercials lately on who has the better car, what cars the safest, cheapest, most fuel efficient, etc. I’m actually looking to buy a car, but am confused with all the commercials and ads. What truly is the best car to buy?

Dear D.K.,
Getting car can be tough. Especially with all crazy options you have now a days.
However, it is the best time to buy a car because companies are selling them relatively cheap. There are also a lot of deals going on right now that will help you pay for the car you choose.
With that being said, it really depends on what you want the car for and how many people are in your family.
It seems like your looking for a fuel efficient car. So, I will go that route. I will also attempt to find the best car and best family type vehicle.
I went on a website called www.cartalk.com and looked through their car data base. I searched for a sedans and SUVs, fuel efficient, safely and under $20,000.
With these key words in place I came up with these three vehicles:
1. 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring GLS Manual. 31 mpg highway, 23 mpg city. 5 out of 5 star crash test rating. $16,000.
2. 2010 Toyota Yaris Liftback 3-Door MT. 36 mpg highway, 29 mpg city. 4 out of 5 star crash test rating. $12,500.
3. 2010 Hyundai Accent Blue GS 3-Door. 36 mpg highway, 27 mpg city. 5 out of 5 star crash test rating. $10,000.
Overall, it seems like the third choice is the best. Feel free to check the “Car Talk” website if you would like more detailed information.
Thanks for the question!
