Solano Aquatic Sea Otters held possibly their last Junior Olympics as Solano Community College March 4-6.

Children ages 8 to 16 compete for the best times in up to seven events at the Sierra Nevada Short Course Junior Olympics. Those events included the breaststroke, freestyle and butterfly stroke, all with varying distances.

The athlete with the best time would got on to the finales at the end of each day. Swimmers with eligible times were able to qualify for Far Westerns and Sectionals.

Participating in the event were 25-30 teams consisting of 600 registered athletes. Parents volunteered their time to help out while venders opened their canopies for photography, swimsuits and snacks, said Camille Anderson.
